Is the Marina fresh or salt water?
Situated upstream of the Goolwa Barrage which separates the salt water from the fresh water, The Marina Hindmarsh Island is a fresh water facility however, at times of lower water levels the salinity is increased.
How deep is TMHI?
The marina and lagoons are all excavated to allow 3m depth at pool level.
Where can I venture with my boat?
Depending on water level, water flows and Government restrictions and the experience of the skipper you can venture to the Coorong, Lakes Alexandrina and Albert and the length of the River Murray.
Can I get out to sea?
Some vessels can go out through the mouth when conditions are appropriate, but it is not advised.
What fish can I catch?
The Coorong is home to Mulloway, Salmon Trout, Bream, Flounder and Coorong Mullet. The River has Callop, Red Fin and European Carp.
What can children do on the South Coast?

Can I cross the Murray Mouth by boat?
Depending on the tide, water flow conditions and the Government restrictions boats may cross the Murray Mouth to enter the Coorong.

Is boat fuel available?
ULP and Distillate are available at TMHI wharf 364 days per year from 10.00am to 4.00pm with extended trading hours durinf the summer months (closed Christmas Day)
Where are the black water pump out stations?
- TMHI client only facility within the Marina
- Public pump out station is between the GRYC and the Goolwa wharf

Where can I slip my boat?
